Assembly and installation of 13 pieces of radiation resistant viewing windows
Description of supply:
The Subject of supply was delivery and installation of radiation resistant viewing windows for biological shielding wall structures of hot cells and semi hot cells in the hall of building 254 in premises of ÚJV Řež, a.s. The viewing windows allow to operational personnel direct observation of inner space of hot cells and semi hot cells and also ensure protection of operational personnel against ionizing radiation.
The supply constituted of manufacturing of lead glasses, stainless steel frames and protection glasses. Part of supply was also developing of installation procedures and performance of tests.
The design of radiation resistant viewing windows included two types of viewing windows - for biological shielding wall thickness 300 mm and wall thickness 500 mm.
The structure of both viewing windows consists of these main subassemblies and parts: set of steel frames, set of steel frames fitted with leaded glass panes, front frame, window and steel spacer blocks.
Each last frame with glass panes (from the operator's side) was provided with two cavities for the placement of silica gel packets. Silica gel absorbs moisture from the inner space between the frames with glass panes, thus preventing possible condensation and fogging of the glass panes.
From the operator side, each viewing window is fitted with a Window, which consists of a steel frame with sealing. Glass protects leaded glass panes against damage or scratches.
Complete viewing window assemblies are fully sealed. This prevents possible outside moisture from entering the inner space of the viewing windows.
All parts of the viewing window assembly have a surface finish with anti-corrosive treatment and are therefore easy to decontaminate.
