Shielding system for radial canal of reactor VR-1

The project was performed with aim to supply the mobile shielding demounting cell around the radial canal of school reactor VR-1.

The project was performed with aim to supply the mobile shielding demounting cell around the radial canal of school reactor VR-1. 

The system was designed of shielding NUVIA blocks with type designation NuRAD 8200, which are produced based on metal-free, high density concrete mixture (density 3.5 kg / m3). These blocks, with a patented design, were assembled into columns to a height of 1,5 meters and reinforced by steel rods and plate with an mounting eye to the possibility of moving by crane. The individual columns are compatible. Similar system was used for ceiling.
