NUVIA Upgraded the Contamination Monitors at the Entrance to the V2 Power Plant in Jaslovské Bohunice

The NUVIA specialists from the Czech and Slovak business units successfully completed the replacement of vehicle contamination monitors at the Slovak power plant Jaslovské Bohunice V2 gatehouse in mid-April 2021. The project was implemented on the basis of a Slovenské elektrárne a.s. tender.

According to the Radiation Protection Act, continuous monitoring of the workplace and its surroundings must be ensured to prevent the release of radioactive substances outside the workplace and into the environment. The measurement of vehicles at the entrance and exit of the power plant serves as the last check before leaving the power plant premises. The current monitoring system has been technically obsolete with no possibility of supplying the necessary spare parts. It would not allow the smooth passage of vehicles through the freight gate in the event of a serious failure, and therefore the overall modernization of contamination monitors was required.

The NUVIA’s supply covered replacement of control and display units, pulse counters for flashing detectors with 4-channel resolution, industrial computer of the highest configuration with LCD display and utility program, distribution boxes and cabling and much more.

After demanding modernization, successful test operation and training of the power plant personnel, the system was put into permanent operation.
